The new exclusive limited Ecommerce Spirit of Big Bang
This year, it's Spirit of Big Bang's turn to be Essential Grey. This historic collection, the only one in Hublot's barrel shape, is made from 100% titanium: including the case, bezel, screws, crown, push-pieces, case-back and folding clasp. The idea is to use the chromatic properties of titanium, the soft, radiant grey that the Manufacture wished to sandblast and grind, as a natural and obvious base for the Essential Grey version.
Only 100 copies will be available, exclusively online at hublot.com. As with certain Hublot models sold online, this digital opportunity will be combined with the Full Hublot Service.
For the occasion, the straps have been matched with a Grey Fabric with Velcro and Black Ceramic Buckle and an additional Bracelet: Black and Silvered Lined Rubber.
The HUB4700 caliber is the successor to the famous El Primero caliber - the first chronograph with an integrated style automatic winding (1969), which was also the first mechanical chronograph equipped with a 5 Hz frequency (36’000 alt/h) allowing an accuracy of 1/10th of a second. In a perfect fusion between tradition and innovation, this entirely skeletonized movement is now equipped with silicon regulating element ensuring avant-garde performances, precision and reliability.
Titanium is extensively used by Hublot, specifically for its lightness. It displays the best relationship between resistance and weight of any material, which makes it an extremely popular material especially within aeronautics. It also stands out with its resistance to corrosion and its inertia in contact with the skin. Hublot only uses high quality, grade 5 titanium, the strongest there is. Once polished, this material retains a slightly bluish metallic sheen.
